Writing down as you receive
If we allow ourselves to write down what we hear inside in the moment we hear it, we keep our inner flow in motion. Often we think we will remember it later, and so we save it up until our head is so full, we have to dump it all out.
The emotions can work the same way. Instead of expressing our feelings, we often swallow them and store them until one day we explode for no apparent reason.
Be willing to stop when you hear something that needs attention and either write it down, text yourself a message, or add it to an action section on your palm handheld. And if feelings show up about anything, handle them with the person when they show up. Taking action will build your inner trust in yourself to follow through with what you are given, and it will keep your energy alive and active.
Learning new things
August 22nd, 2008
I talked to a woman today who recently purchased my book. She was so enthusiastic, and I was a bit taken aback. I realized that what I take for granted as habits in my life are brand new ideas for others. She was telling me how each page, although short in text, is filled with so much to reflect on and use. She mentioned the most valuable one for her is about writing things down. I forget the power and freedom that are available when my head is empty and my heart can move into the driver’s seat.
The gift of perspective
August 12th, 2008
Give yourself the gift of perspective by regularly reviewing your lists and actions—aka the weekly review, or as I sometimes like to call it, the “look and see.” Looking and seeing on a regular basis what is on our lists gives us an expanded perspective and a view from which we can then see clearly where to move next.
